I'm finishing the parts of the RV-7A that I skipped prior. I need to buy an engine but before spending the money on that, I've decided to do all the things I can. So this week the assignment was put the plastic tip on the Rudder, and clean up the rudder trailing edge.
The plastic tip has an edge all around except for on the forward face. So first think was to file back the flange so the same lip or edge is present here just like along the rest of the plastic tip.
Then I had to trim off the bottom of the plastic tip, because it hit the aluminum inside the Rudder. Drawing also shows this trim is required.
