Brief Description: Slide Vise for Milling on my Drill Press
I picked up this 5 inch slider vice today at Harbor Freight. Yes it is made in China. Yes it is sloppy in the cranks. But it does have tightening screws so you can adjust the play out of the threads. it was $54 bucks. Cheap compared to a "real" one. It has a 7 inch throw. I think it will do fine for making slotted holes and other minor machining operations on the drill press. Harbor Freight also had this one box of end mill bits. They are alledgedly titanium coated for hardness. Good thing about these bits is I'll be using them on aluminum instead of steel, so they should work for awhile. They go down to size 3/16.
Someday I'd like to find an old American made metal lathe and slider vise table.
