Brief Description:  Wing-Right 1

Next to paint is the whole wing. Removing the blue cellophane is a chore. Perhaps I should never have left it on this long.

I do the same many steps on each piece including filling the rivet heads, sanding, scotch briting, washing, dewaxing, degreasing before spraying etch primer.

But on the wings I decided to fill on the rivet holes on the top. I'm not filling them on the bottom. Nobody will look at the bottom and it is a ton of work to fill them on the whole wing.

I tape shut the access holes.
I remove the rattle can primer on the aft end. I don't remove it on the ribs because I've decided not to paint the ribs. They will just be primer grey.

I also bought these little silicon plugs to fill in all the screw holes. I remove most of the fuel tank screws but not all. But I do lift them up so I can spray under them.

I experimented with different ways to hold the wings for painting. I bought a bunch of 2x4s thinking I'd have to build a fixture, but I didn't.
