I made the second bend and then the gusset fit fairly flush to the parts.
I made sure it was up (down) high enough so when I drill thru the weld mount, I don't violate edge margin on the gussett. And I made sure it wias 1/8 inch from firewall web, per drawing.
To help establish the 1/8 inch back offset, I pushed the gusset up against the firewall all the way forward and made a line on the gusset. Then I removed it and drew another line 1/8 offset from it and used this second line as a visual aid to keep the gusset 1/8 back from the firewall.
Finally after a couple part time days of messing with these I have them clamped and ready to drill.
