I marked all the stiffeners as I cut them to length. I left the tab 1/4 inch long on each end (1/2 total). But the "trim to fit" instruction bombed. I ended up with a large gap between bulkheed and stiffener in a couple places. I marked the cutout while stiffener was installed. I should have just routinely followed the plan dimensions instead of getting fancy with dimensions and tirm to fit. Or I should have made better notes about what I was doing and paid more attention to trimming the cutouts at the proper location. I think this cut out is 1/4 short of where it is suppose to be.
But the consequence seems negligible because the stiffener is still plenty long enough to rivet to the bulkheads and does rivet to the skin ever inch or so.
I made a little tool for drawing the 5/16 line down the center of the 6 j-stiffeners. This made it much easier to get a good straight line with consistance distance from the edge. It really helped to have a good clear line later for drilling.
