Then I set up my little drill guide that holds round stock for perpendicular drilling and drilled the holes. I drilled them #40 first and then #30 as a second step. I deburred both sides of every hole. Then I primed all the parts and riveted them together. I mixed up which end cap goes on which pushrod but my hole patterns were so similar that they seemed to fit on any rod. The long drill in the photo flexed to much and I ended up removing the spring and pushing the drill all the way into the chuck with only 1/2 inch revealed for drilling.
