It was past time to do oil change. Tach = 80 hours. Last oil change was at 33 hours. 50 hours in six months is more than my history experience, so I must be having fun in this RV-7A. But oil looked okay, and held steady at 6 quarts. I put in 1 maybe 2 quarts since last April.
I changed oil and sent sample to AVLab for analysis. I use Philips XC 20W-50 multi=grade but 100% mineral oil. No synthethics. I replaced oil filter with CH48110-1.
I also had a bad EGT probe on cylinder #4 so I replaced it today. New one works fine. I'm using Dynon's probes which are only $35 bucks. Too cheap and others complain about the cost but they have the blade connectors on them that I'm using. I suppose if they start to fail too often I'll buy better or at least more expensive ones.
