The fuselage is done for awhile and I'm going to try and finish the wings this year. Finish means all systems installed, and bottom skins rivetted on. I'm starting with the easy stuff. First the landing lights.
I pulled my wings out from against the wall. The were full of dust and a couple spiders. For some reason I had attached a couple of wires to my landing lights and the wires are not aerospace wires so off they go. I've order some 16 gauge from Spruce. Now I'll wait for the mail to come in.
I've been reading up on electrical processes. I've decided to use local grounds for airframe type of systems like lights. Communication systems I'll use shielded wire and bring grounds back to the source.
For these wings I've gotta do the following:
1) Landing Lights Wiring 2) Auto pilot servos and wiring 3) Nav and Strobe lights in plastic tips 4) Heated pitot on one wing 5) Navigation anntenna on one side inside plastic tip 6) Install plastic tips 7) Rivet on bottom skins
We'll see how it goes. I've been looking for photos of these on Van's Forum and Google, but not seeing much.
