Brief Description:  Drilling the Canopy 2: The splice plate

I pushed the forward roll bar up against the canopy and clamped it to the roll bar. Then I removed the canopy. To drill the splice plate, I had to remove the plate and attach it on the outside. I was able to remove it from between the roll bars, but the only way to put it on the outside of the arch was backwards. This means the right is on the left and the left on the right. Fortunately my splice plate was accurately drilled and is pretty semitrical bi-laterally.

The holes on the left side of the splice plate matched up with the holes in the arch that had been drilled from the right side of the splice plate. So I drilled a few holes thru the splice plate into the undrilled side of the arch. If my plate was not symetrical, this process would not work.

I removed the arch and plate and finished drilling on the bench. I also drilled the four #12 holes. Deburred and clecoed everything back together.
