Drilling the lower holes on the fin aft spar is tricky because I have the tie down bracket already drilled with four holes in it and I want them to line up with holes thru the aft fin spar.
So I positioned the tie down bracket with rivets. I countersunk the four rivet holes and put rivets in them to hold the tie down bracket. I put tape over the rivets.
I used the tie down bracket holes as a guide to match drill the fin aft spar. I was able to get my angle drill in there and drill the top two holes. Then I removed the fin, clecoed the tie down bracket onto the spar using the two holes just drilled and drilled the final to holes. These are all drilled at 1/8.
Next I'll be enlarging these four holes from the aft side to #12 so if I'm off a little with the location, the holes will be engulfed in the final size hole.
