Horizontal Stabilizer - Part II
Okay – my replacement parts order showed up today via FedEX and I was wanted to get started ASAP. (1) Because I just did a HS and (2) Wanted to get back on track..whatever that is.
Note, the HS I built was okay. Would most likely pass and fly – but I just wasn’t completely happy with the workmanship so I decided to rebuild. Most of workmanship was inexperience in building in my opinion.
Opened them up and jumped in. Of course I referred to the builders’ manual and drawing but just doing it made it go fairly fast. One thing I noticed about this batch of parts is that the ribs were noticeably out of balance and major fluting was necessary to get them flat and straight.
Got everything together ready for match drill tomorrow and perhaps rivet.
Will pause tomorrow and make sure all steps were completed and things are going together per plans.
