Brief Description: Building a fuel pumps mount
|
|
Worked on the fueling today. I've got two pumps (main/backup), prefilters, high pressure filter (NAPA #23310), flow transducer, and the previously installed pressure sensor, which all must be connected and mounted together.
I cut a 1' x 1' sheet of aluminum in half and riveted them together, to get a long 2' x 6" piece, then placed components, cut hoses, clamped with 14.5mm Oetikers, then drilled and screwed everything into the mount.
It will mount on the co-pilot side top fuselage tube behind the bulkhead, so I added 1" Adel clamps for it to hang from.
I also ran the fuel hose from the mount point, up to the engine, ran the return fuel hose from the mount point and into the fuel tank, and run a hose from the fuel tank, up to the mount point.
I also did a lttile wiring for the fuel pumps. I didn't permanently mount it all yet, because I'm still waiting on the engine ECUs to come in, and I'll mount them on the backside of this. I also did not permanently clamp the hose to the fuel rail at the engine, because the first time I run the pumps with fuel, I'll need to have it off to purge the air from the system.
This completes the fueling flow for the plane.
