Brief Description: Section 17, still fitting the turtle deck
Another builder contacted me and said that if I had to trim so much off the turtle deck, to make sure to test fit the turtle deck angle brackets that go on the mid-root support and bolt to the top of the turtle deck. In the test, I didn't have enough room to bolt them in, but only because I have an 1/8" of sound proofing and another 1/8" layer of carpeting. I marked where the brackets will go, removed the deck, and cut some tabs in the carpeting for the backets to go; now a perfect fit for those. Once installed, it'll look nicer with the carpet glued over the brackets to hide them anyway.
While the deck was off, I used a file to smooth out any rough spots on the edges, and cut the carpet back 3/4", as to not get in the way of the area to be riveted.
I'll perform one more thorough check on everything residing in the aft hull before permanently putting it in place.
