Brief Description: The build has begun... bulkhead almost complete
I’m off and running now. Made huge progress today in almost finishing the bulkhead… the only thing that stopped me was near the end of section 1, when I had to rivet the “bulkhead upright support plate” on. My cheap Harbor Freight manual rivet gun lasted through one whole rivet. I’m sure it would have lasted through a few more, if these weren’t stainless steel rivets. That one rivet is beautiful, though. I’ll bring out the big dogs tomorrow with an air hydraulic riveter. I did get tripped-up on page 16, where the manual calls for a bolt that’s not in the kit (two AN5-26A), but AN5-25A substituted fine. Every once in a while, I’d have to drill a tad larger to accommodate and line up the required bolt, but most of the pre-drilling was right where it should be.
