Today I was able to get into the 601XL and sit at the controls to test distance and effectiveness. The rudder pedals seem to be about three inches too close so I may need to reconfigure them. Figure 1 was on the pedals and my knees were in some cases above the instrument panel.
Figure 2 was about 1 inch further forward and was better but Figure 3 was three inches forward and felt most comfortable.
The control stick was positioned perfectly and allowed me access to the hat trim mechanism as well as the flaps up/down switch. I could use either hand to control movement without any discomfort.
All in all, the cabin seems well suited for my size, height and weight.
Getting out took some figuring but once I managed to use my upper body strength to raise out of the chair, I was able to get my legs onto the seat and ease out of the cockpit.
