Brief Description:  Preparing the pitot probe for install

I have a Dynon pitot/AOA probe and a Gretz pitot mast ready to install. The pitot probe has two air ports and line tubes: One for pitot and one for AOA, both of which plumb back to the SkyView ADAHRS.

I first test-fitted the probe to the mast, and drew circles on through the mast's screw holes into the drill points on the probe. I then match-drilled and tapped the four holes for #6 screws.

I test-fitted the probe and checked the length of the aluminum tubes to be sure they would extend to the next inboard wing rib. The length is good, and the run holes that allow the tubes through the rib are wide enough to allow the blue AN fittings to pass through. However, the snap grommets aren't wide enough, so I removed the snap grommets from the wing. I sliced the snap grommets on one side lengthwise so that I could install the grommets onto the aluminum tube on the rib's outboard side, but still snap them into the rib to protect the tube.

I then flared the tubes and installed AN fittings (image 3). Kelli supervised.
