OK, I'm not cut out for really high-end surface work on fiberglass. With the intersection fairings tack-epoxied to the wheel pants, I tried to fill the gaps and build contour with epoxy/flox, then sand that down to a nice contour. I followed that with another thin feathered application of cabosil-thickened epoxy, followed by much more sanding.
I am sorely disappointed by my work, so after I took these photos, I took the fairings to GLO Aircraft Paint at Northwest Regional Airport. Grady's employee Brandon specializes in fiberglass work, and they'll get these shaped right, fill the pinholes, prime, and paint in white.
A man's got to know his limitations...
