Houston helped me mount the 2 VHF antennae to the airplane belly. These are RAMI AV-17 bent whip antennae, and I mounted them under the main landing gear weldments. Photo 2 shows the first attempt at connection: I later realized I didn't provide a very effective grounding plane for the antennae screws, so I stripped off the primer, mounted an additional bare-steel mounting plate, and remounted.
Transmit/receive results are mixed: We'll cover that later.
