Brief Description: Horiz Stab: Acid wash prep for prime
I got a head start on the long weekend by going ahead and acid etching/washing the skeleton. Based on my friend and fellow RV-7 builder Kent Stitt's recommendation, I'm using Stewart Systems EkoEtch E675 self-etching acid wash as prep, and backing it up with an easy scuffing with a Scotchbrite pad.
Note I laid out the parts carefully: You don't see the list I kept on the side with the parts numbers and which side the part mounts on the airplane. Reason: The acid removes the Sharpee markings!
We'll tackle the skins and all the priming in a couple of days. Houston's big brother Chase is coming home from Texas Tech for Thanksgiving!
