Brief Description: Designed battery box installation, cut initial pie
1. Identified candidate location in aircraft. 2. Concieved battery box mounting method. 3. Documented in CAD program.
Concept uses stiffner under battery box to provide stiffnes to aircraft skin, and keep battery box from making contact with skin, which might provide a potential trap for battery acid.
4. Cut 8.25" x 11" rectangle from .025 aluminum. 5. Deburred edges. 6. Ran sheet through brake per drawing just created. 7. Set up rivet pattern on braked sheet ("battery box stiffner"), pilot drilled with #40 bit. 8. Positioned battery box stiffner in aircraft, back drilled and clecoed through pilot holes with #40 bit.
