Brief Description: Added access to top of instrument panel.
1.Located area on sheet covering instrument panel, which was clear of canopy and structure. 2.Marked access area. 3.Made pattern on thin paper, and cut out pattern. 4.Transferred pattern to sheet of scrap 6061T6 .025. 5.Cut out area to form access panel. 6.Marked access panel with rivet fan, and punched holes to be drilled. 7.Installed sheet covering instrument panel with clecoes. 8.Taped access panel to sheet with masking tape. 9.Begin drilling holes to be used for nut plates with #40 bit; clecoing as holes were drilled. 10.Opened holes with #20 bit, replacing clecoes with appropriate size as holes were drilled. 11.Removed both sheets. 12.Placed sheet covering instrument panel on bench, and clecoed nut plates to sheet. 13.Rotated nut plates for appearance. 14.Drilled rivet holes for nut plates with #40 bit. 15.Opened screw holes in instrument panel sheet and access panel with #5 bit. 16.Deburred all holes. 17.Installed nut plates with A3 rivets. 18.Mounted instrument panel sheet on aircraft with clecoes, and access panel with #10 screws.
