The wing flap couplings rotate freely around a coupling to the flap motor, until they are secured. This is the process which secures the flaps.
1) Center punched location of bolt securing port wing flap. 2) Pilot drilled with #40 bit. 3) Opened hole with #20 bit. 4) Cleaned hole. 5) Installed AN3-14A bolt, AN960 washer, and lock nut. 6) Repeated for stbd wing flap. 7) Removed tools, and verified operation with flap switch. 8) Sense of flap switch was wrong. Swapped leads, made new hook splices, soldered, and protected with heat shrink tubing.
