Brief Description:  Routed and connected brake lines

This is one of those tasks that took longer to think through than to do. I hadn't found a source for the clips recommended by Zenith, so I queried the mailing list. Almost no one was using or recommending them. One person recommended Adel clamps, which had been my first thought.

1.Did trial routing on rear of stbd gear leg.
2.Penetrated lower fuselage behind seat.
3.Routed tubing through center console.
4.Area proved to be too crowded. The line was going to have interference with active controls, which was unacceptable.
5.Removed line, and plugged fuselage hole with “goof plug.”
6.Connected brake line to brake cylinder on stbd gear.
7.Routed along front back of gear, and temporarily secured with masking tape.
8.Masking tape will be replaced with DG-4 Adel clamps.
9.Routed line behind floor stiffener, and entered floor in front of brake pan on stbd side.
10. Routed line along front of brake pan. Again, line is temporarily secured with masking tape, and will be permanently secured with DG-4 clamps.
11. Connected to brake master cylinder.
12. Repeated steps 6-11 for port side.

Note: Plastic plug on port master cylinder had melted into cylinder. I'm not sure if this was the result of heat, some chemical, or both. I removed the cylinder, and dug the plug out with an awl, then replaced the cylinder.

4 hours.
