Brief Description:  Air/oil separator

I decided to make my own separator, similar to Gus Schlegel, (or was it Dave Koelzer? I forget.) Picked up a fuel bottle at REI for about $10. The copper mesh cleaning pad is from the supermarket. I bought two, but after unrolling it I only needed one. The air filter and drain valve I cannibalized from a plastic air/oil separator that I bought from Summit Racing a long time ago, and figured it was too late to return for a refund. I wasn't that comfortable with a plastic bottle of oil near the engine, hence the shift to a metal bottle. The breather hose from the engine will connect to the center 1/2" aluminum tube, which is epoxied to the air filter. The aluminum tubing goes 2/3 the way into the bottle thru the air filter. The oil mist will collect on the copper mesh, condense, and will periodically be drained via the valve at the bottom. The exhaust via the air filter is used in lieu of an exhaust hose. I fabricated a simple bracket to accommodate the hose clamps. The bracket is attached with bolts and nut plates on the firewall.
