Brief Description: Techniques for tightening bolts
The correct torque was applied to all bolts in this critical fuselage stage and 'witness paint' applied afterwards. A pneumatic Ratchet was used to part set the bolts; the air pressure was turned down. This helps minimize the marks on the nuts during tightening. Flank drive Snap-On wrench were also helpful in minimising the marking of bolts. Bolt holes were reamed if tight to ensure the bolt’s anodizing is not scratches by pushing the bolt into the hole. Duralac was used after reaming taking care not to put it on the nylock nuts.
