Brief Description: R.W.Tank Trial Fitting to the Wing
Two problems occurred at this point:
1. After build the L. Tank the instruction should have been read again, but the brain failed to precisely remember the process and a mistake was made. The wing skin attachment point to the Strap was dimpled. This results it in being impossible to set up the wing tank to ‘match drill’ the attachment screw holes. The holes were therefore drilled after careful measurements were made; it worked out perfectly.
2. Being in a rush prior to going on a family holiday, masking tape was left on the bottom of the 'Z' brackets whilst working out the attachment holes for the wing; the tape was removed later. The masking tape made this tight fit more difficult. Cleos didn't have the power to pull the skins down tight on the wing so screws were used. The lubricant Nutlube in the nutplate ensured no crossed threading. Perfect.
