Prior to closing the elevator beads of red Silcone were applied to the end of each stiffener as per instructions. The Elevator was carefully lined up in the bender. Two wooden blocks were clamped against the spar to hold the Elevator in place. The bead was eventually formed after a number of efforts; all a bit scary.
