I idea of fabricating fibreglass on Plexiglass, having built two Glasairs, is not one of Van’s best ideas to put it mildly; it’s horrible. Using a 0.04” epoxy pre-laminated sheet is the better way. Produced by Mick Reeves for jet models aircraft www.mickreevesmodels.co.uk it’s excellent A template was first made. In the first attempt it was then stuck to the Plexiglass with epoxy resin; this delightfully peeled off the Plexiglass surface; not good. In the second attempt Sikaflex was used. Clamping the pre-laminate to the Plexiglass using a strip of 0.02” aluminium and clamps; brilliant and easy. A large bead or two of Sikaflex needs to be applied in order for it to squeeze out between the two surfaces. Otherwise, air pockets can be left which will need drilling and syringing with a cabsol expoxy resin.
