The Frame was clamped onto two tables which allowed the process to be done sitting in a chair. Extra lights are needed; it is difficult to see the black Sikaflex on a black powder coated frame. Extractor fans, a spray overall, gloves and respirator mask are mandatory during this process. It’s a good idea to wear two sets of rubber gloves, this allows the first pair to be pulled off when they get messy. Sikaflex on non primed surfaces like frames and plexiglass rubs off easily when dry, you don’t have to clean it all up. Two1/8” beads were squeezed onto the frame first, the canopy was placed on top with the aid of a helper then English Pin Skin clamps etc. were then installed. A rough finish was produced followed by the final finish using the Tooling Agent. Try to use less than more on the first time round and don’t worry about getting too close to the edge of the first tape. After 50mins tack time the first tap was removed. Any problems now can be sorted out using a rubber covered finger and the Tooling Agent N. Finally, a strap was installed across the front using the Roller Mount fixture through holes in the 0.02” thick strap. This should stop the canopy spreading during the cure. All was finished easily within the time using this method of first squeezing the Sikaflex onto the frame; no stress!
