Brief Description:  Canopy Frame Installation

To position the two GPS aerials for the GNS 750 & 730 the Slide Rails and Canopy Frame needed to be installed; all a bit of a mega worry. Probably, not a major stress only time will tell. The Slide Cap and Spacer were first made and installed. Then the Slide Rails were set up as per the instructions though the measurements did not seem to work. The frame was fitted on to them as per instructions with three 0.04” strips fitted to the ribs of the frame per side. The front one can be conveniently clecoed to the side. This results in the slide rails positively positioning themselves. An additional jig was made to insure a constant distance was maintained between the two Slide Rails. The front holes were drilled first then the frame moved back progressively as the holes were drilled. Finally, the rear holes were drilled. At this point the frame was gently bent to the correct shape. This was done quite easily. Fingers crossed. And, yes, the passenger shoulder straps will clear the aerials!
