I got the platenuts ready for installing the inspection panels. I chased each platenut with the proper tap first. I then installed each of the 6 inspection plates with new screws and anti-seize. I tapped each of the 2 wing tiedown brackets. I then chased each tiedown ring with a 3/8-16 die. I put blue loctite on each of them before fastening them in place.I then installed the centre support bracket for the lower cowling. I then installed the knock-out cover forward of the front gearleg. I made new steel hinge pins for the sides of the lower cowl. Tomorrow I'll make new steel hinge pins for the lower cowl bottom hinge connectors, complete with locking legs. This was a lot more work than it looks.
