Brief Description:  Fuel flows, etc

Well today I tightened up the firewall fuel manifold and fuel return line. I pressurized the system...no leaks. I then did a flow test on both tanks and both pumps. Each various combination yielded between 39.5 and 39.6 U.S. gallons per hour. Plenty of fuel for the little 2.5L Subaru. The fuel manifold sprung a leak. I removed the unit, then tightened the leaking fitting. Re-pressurized the unit, and a new leak. Tightened the new leak and pressurized it again...another new leak. Repeated process again...and again... and again... I pulled the piece of Chinese sh_t out and am replacing it tomorrow with a brass manifold that I will assemble myself. Overall it was a good and enlightening day. Better to happen here and now, than later in the air.
