Brief Description: Cutting and installing cockpit carpet
When I arrived at the hangar this morning it was -2C inside so I turned on the gas heat to see if I could get it up over freezing in case I got to the point later in the day to glue in the cockpit carpet. Well, 5 hours later it was +14C inside, but outside it had also gone up by 10C so what I got for a pipeline load of natural gas I don't know. Anyway it was a great feeling to cut the carpet and lay it out inside the cockpit area. A completely different skill set and tool kit required after hours spent installing the landing gear actuators inside the bulkhead frame. But by the time I got it ready for gluing I had to entertain a hangar visitor over a brewski and despite the ambient temperature being perfect for gluing I decide to shut down for the day.
