Brief Description: Main Bulkhead Assembly - Landing Gear
With Bruce's able assistance today, plus his two extra hands, I was able to adjust the internal limit switches on the co-pilot side Electric Gear Actuator per Section 2.5 of the manual. He then quite skillfully chopped up the now obsolete old-style Aileron Stops to make backing plates to turn the kit supplied Micro Switches #2910-009 into something looking more like the #1500-015 parts shown and described in the new manual. He used two #4-40x5/8" Machine Screws to secure the switches to each piece of 1/8' thick aluminum flat bar (1" wide by a decent length long, say 2", ours were too short). During the following weekend I drilled them with two oversize (say 3/16") holes to give some slop for the #6-32 Machine Screws used to mount them into the Bulkhead. These screws went into 5/64" holes tapped 6-32. Ughhh... I hated this section. My back was constantly sore, parts and tools were forever dropping down into the hull. I ignored the instructions on installing the AHRS Mount Bracket as I will be using a Dynon Skyview EFIS that uses a different set-up. What that is I don't know, but that is another days's challenge. The last step in this section is to install the Remote Reservoir for the brake's hydraulic system onto the aft side of the Bulkhead. With my frame installed in the hull already it was impossible for me to mount as described in the manual so I just bent the ell-shaped bracket into something approximated a flat plate and screwed it down into the top of the Bulkhead Cross Tube, Upper.
