I take back anything good I said about this Section of the manual before. For the record, my comments are: it is a pile of crap, throw it out, re-write it, take some some new clear photos.... and maybe we can be friends again.
It finally occurred to Bruce and I, confirmed by a phone call to Glen in Nelson, BC, that we had the Electric Actuators installed upside down. That is why we had interference between the actuator housing and the Gear Leg. Pouring back over the manual photos and some other photos provided showed we couldn't be faulted for how we got here.
Anyway we got the actuators flipped over, powered up, and lo and behold, the gear legs went up and down, and the tail wheel went up and down just as proscribed... Halleluah, thank you!
To pull the Tail Wheel Retraction Cable Spring into place we put a rope on it. As one person pulled the other hooked the spring onto the Tail Wheel Retraction Cable.
