Brief Description:  Re-starting the engine

Over four days:
The engine started easily for the first time in almost two years but damn! still wouldn't idle less than 3,000 rpm! So I went all over the carbs again looking for loose connections, dirt, shavings, whatever. Couldn't find anything. Fiddled with the idle speed and mixture screws for the thousandths time and checked the starting needles.
Noticed that when the engine ran the ammeter was indicating negative. So reversed the light guage wiring around the shunt (X10-amps high, X11-amps lo).
Finally... I noticed that the Bowden Cable to the co-pilot side throttle was not properly seated into the retainer on the side of the carb. Fixed that, and she started up easily and after warm up idled about 1,600 rpm. A little low now, but a heck of a lot better than ever before!
When I increased the throttle to over 5,000 rpm the tach reading jumped all over the place... not a good feeling, so shut down to figure out this next problem.
