Brief Description: Canopy Window installation - pilot
The pilot side sliding canopy had to be trimmed along the leading edge to conform to the shape of the windshield and also along the bottom edge to fit between the top and bottom guides. The trimming I did with a cutting disc in a Dremel. When I installed the trailing edge brace (covered with rubber) I found the the canopy would not pass over the turtle deck. The clearance was negligible. So I removed the turtle deck bulkhead by drilling out all the rivets and removing the bolts. The idea being that perhaps I could reshape the turtle deck in that area, and also install the fixed cabin window, to create the required clearance.
