Brief Description:  Applying Registration Marks

I first received the registration marks C-FBXO in November, 2020 and have been renewing my reservation to use them annually since.
After much studying of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARSs) and scoping out all the planes in the local hangars I roughly worked out the design and location that I wanted to use.
CARs specifies the font as "Roman capital type without ornamentation". Yeah right! This font name doesn't actually exist and the general aviation planes in my area generally didn't comply with the style and sizes specified.
So I visited Craig McCahon of Designer Signs in Powell River to get advice from a professional. He has done some aircraft markings before but I was the first one to actually bring the CARs regulations to him with the "Roman capital type without ornamentation" specification (useless, as his database search across the whole frigging universe couldn't find such an animal). More importantly I had the plane side view sketch and the font dimensions that come from MD-RA (the inspection contractor used by Transport Canada). These can be found at:

So Craig started with the "USAF standard" that he found on the web and then modified each letter and the spacings between them to exactly match E_02 above.
He printed out the vinyl stencils, one for each side of the fuselage, in minutes once he had them designed.
Installing them on the plane was a breeze for him, and they look great!
