Brief Description:  Elevator final finishes

Over four relatively short sessions I checked out and secured the two elevators. The hinge bolts are very difficult to access and work on even with the access holes deliberately cut in the elevator gap seals for that purpose. Much fiddling and patience is need to thread each drilled AN-3-14 bolt through its hinge, place the castle nut, and secure the cotter pin. AN3 washers can be used if needed to close gaps but I didn't need to use any.
I checked that the elevator accuator assemblies consisting of a reversing horn, an acuator tube, and a control horn, along with fixing plates and angles, on each side were bolted together correctly and drilled bolts, castle nuts, and cotter pins were in place where needed (i.e. any rotating joints).
Final items included the four cables that secure the horizontal stabilizers and rudders, two on each side up to the vertical stabilizer and two on each side below down to the boom tube cover and to near the tail wheel assembly. These cables include turn buckles which need safety clips installed. I found that some were missing and had to order replacements from Aircraft Spruce.
