Well I have come full circle in my ideas for a paint scheme for the Spirit after having obviously missed the 2017 celebration of Canada's 150th birthday. Back to the historic Queen Charlotte Airlines of the '40s and '50s with their snappy silver, black and yellow palette emblazoned with an antique looking crest featuring a Haida Gwaii (formely Queen Charlotte Islands) war canoe with wings. If you look closely on the first photo of the model QCA Supermarine Stranraer flying boat "Alaska Queen" you can see she has the registration marks "CF-BXO", the earlier version of my reserved marks "C-FBXO". Painting is not my priority for what is left of this year's building season so I plan to just apply decals over the existing white FRP hull and silver fabric surfaces and get my Certificate of Airworthiness.
