Brief Description:  Electrical - first power to electrical system

Well this was disappointing... I hooked up the battery, switched the Master Switch Battery side to ON and didn't see much to be happy about. The Landing Light and the wingtip Navigation Lights did come on when switched from the centre panel switches. The Power Bus also called out "Generator" (I really have to read that manual in detail, but one step at a time, I just want to see some simple electrical circuits work first). But the wingtip Strobe Lights, the cabin Flood Light and the Heater Fans did not work. Further the green "power on" lights on their switches in some cases did not come on, or just flickered. So, obviously wires are not connected properly, are shorted, are not grounded somewhere, or, or, or. Not a good start! And these are the simple electrical circuits.
So, lots of trouble shooting time spent here. First, I verified that each light or fan would work if powered directly closer to the units with a the temporary battery. Yes, they did. So the problem(s) was in the wiring from the field to the Harness Support Tray through the J7 (Switches) bundle to, or at, the Centre Console switches.
Frankly I gave up here for a while... I realized that I was at the limits of my technical ability, that I was risking damaging my whole electrical and avionics system, that this system was crucial to my plane getting airborne and being safe... plus the wet and windy weather and short days of winter made for depressing working conditions. I took a break.
