In this Chapter the two Horizontal Elevators are mounted to the trailing edges of the Horizontal Stabilizers and the Elevator Actuator Tube Assemblies are installed to give the Elevators their up and down control. To mount the hinges three bolts previously installed in the leading edge of each Elevator have to be cut out throught the fabric, removed and re-installed. This part is straight forward but the manual also refers to installing Allen Head Bolts at three other locations. Since I already had regular bolts installed at those locations sealed under the fabric, plus I didn't see any need for Allen versus regular bolts, I ignored this step. This may come back to haunt me, but who doesn't like a good ghost story? I left the Gap Seal installation until final spraying is done and moved onto installing the Horn Mount Angle on each Elevator and the Control Horns. All pretty straightforward as was the final step for me this day of connecting these horns to the two Elevator Reversing Horns (installed long ago) via the two Elevator Actuator Tube Assemblies. 10 August update: for one of the Actuator Tube Assemblies I had to go back and replace a bolt with a drilled one, plus a castle nut and cotter pin
