Brief Description: Vertical Fin - Poly-Brush spraying
I had covered all the flying surfaces with fabric and brushed on one coat of Poly-Brush back before winter set in. Now with warmer weather of the new year here I am determined to get the spray coats of Poly-Brush and Poly-Spray onto the surfaces in short order. I will worry about the paint topcoats once the plane is closer to flying, or perhaps later or never. I decided to start with the vertical stabilizer mostly because it is a pretty conspicuous target mounted into the Tail Boom. Most of the time spent here was in cleaning up the hangar, re-calibrating the iron and working out the wrinkles, covering up the plane's tail with butcher paper and the hangar area with poly and figuring out how the new HVLP spray gun (Home Depot) worked. The spraying on of the two coats was a non-event other than I was dismayed about how much Poly-Brush I consumed. I am guessing I will be ordering two more gallons of Poly-Brush to get all the surfaces done at this rate, plus Reducer. First I will dial back the sprayer to the minimum application for the next flying surfaces.
