Brief Description:  Electrical Support Tray installation

My build project has really slowed down over the last few months. Firstly, winter shifted to spring through March and April and the 45 year old roof on my hangar showed evidence of her age by dripping cold water everywhere. This really constrained my enthusiasm to do any electrical work. Secondly the poor lighting in the hangar made the finickity work of installing the electrical tray all that more trying. Thirdly my new job as a plant General Manager severely curtailed my attention span and availlable time.

But now all is good. I spent many weekends up on the roof refastening the corrugated steel panels and patching the seams, I had a contractor install numerous electrical lighting fixtures and power outlets and finally, I contrived to have the company fire me as GM. Now all my problems are fixed.

I installed the two PA optionally supplied Harness SupportTray Arm Supports as shown in the first photo below. However I didn't like how they swung around in the breeze so made up braces of 1/16" angle aluminum as shown in the second photo to better secure them. With two AN3 bolts in each end of the Tray the whole arrangement turned out quite well. To avoid possible interference with the rudder cable connection bolts and the Support Arms I turned the bolts around so that the castle nuts are inboard.

The 'miles' of wire and hose in the harness is very daunting!
