Over two days this weekend I installed the left and rightside Boom Tube Covers, Expansion Plates, Elevator Control Stops and the Splash Guard. The Stops didn't actually come with my LSX kit but I had ordered them many months ago after reading ahead a bit in the manual. I stopped short of riveting, just cleco'd until I am really comfortable with everything and get a better feel for what painting will entail. The only challenge in this chapter was installing the AN4-55a bolt shown in the third photo. You have to seat it blindly into the Nutplate located under the Boom Tube and completely hidden away. I used a marked bamboo stick to first locate the Nutplate, then the AN4-62a bolt to determine that the threads worked and then patiently fiddled with the AN4-55a bolt until it seated itself properly.
