Brief Description:  Cargo Panel installation

To install the fixed Cargo Panel which is screwed down around the Fuel Tank fill neck I followed Chapter 5 Section 5.5 of the LSA manual.
First I used contact cement to secure a piece of carpet onto the previously prepared piece of plywood panel (see 31 May 2015 log entry) . Then I screwed the two kit supplied pieces of 2x4 Wooden Baggage Deck Support to the aluminum Fuel Tank Angle, Aft.
I temporarily installed the prepared aft piece of the left side Cargo Panel along with the forward piece to check the fit. With nine plastic spacers being used to hang the Fuel Tank Angle, Aft below the Boom Support Tubes (see Section 5.3 page 5 of 5) the elevation of everything seemed to be just right.
There were no Cargo Deck Foam Supports supplied with my kit so I purchased six soft foam sponges 3"x5"x1-3/4" and used contact cement to fix them to the top of the fuel tank as shown in the photos. They squeezed down just the right amount under the weight of the Cargo Panels to make me think that I was doing things correctly.
24 Oct 2015 update: During a visit to the Progressive Aerodyne factory in Tavares, Florida I saw that they had elongated the Fuel Tank Fill Neck hole in the cargo panel somewhat as shown in the third photo below to allow for easy hook-up of the fuel filling hose. So I did the same.
