This day didn't start off well. I had it in my head that the kit had come with four 1 quart cans of Poly-Tak contact cement. So when I almost finished the third can yesterday with just a little more than a whole wing to do I thought I was in good shape. Except... today after practically turning the hangar inside out I could not locate the fourth quart. Finally checking the inventory sheet I saw that I only ever had three quarts. The PA manual is mute on this point and the Poly-Fiber manual says that you can thin Poly-Tak with M.E.K. but not expressly that you are supposed to do this. So as far as I am concerned PA short shipped the kit on this point. When I contacted Earl at PA he said that they routinely thin Poly-Tak with M.E.K. on the factory assembled Searey LSAs and on that basis three quarts is enough to do the whole plane. Needless to say I asked for a rushed shipment of the quart I need for the second wing (and ordered a Pilot Operating Handbook and the Hydraulic Parking Brake kit). And I judiciously thinned the precious little bit of Poly-Tak that I had on hand. And with that little bit of nastiness behind us, Steve and I got the right wing final gluing done, applied all the 2" and 4" Linear Tapes and Poly-Brushed the whole thing... reveling in how easy the wing was to rotate to suit our needs in the Super-Duper Rotisserie Jig.
