Brief Description: Main Gear - checking before inspection
Continuing to clean parts, torque & mark bolts and sign off my construction log I moved through the final steps of Section 8 which covers the Electric Landing Gear Assembly. All went well except I still can't figure out step 13.1 where you are supposed to install tie wraps to seal the rubber booties to the Main Gear Legs. My booties project out from the hull, so how do the tie wraps insert between the FRP hull and the bulkhead? Oh well, I am just going to wait until I have a chance to inspect some flying Seareys at Oshkosh next week. Even though I can't find the specific instruction in the manual I also lockwired the Tail Wheel Rectraction and Extension Cable Sleeves where they come through the hull transom.
8 Aug 2015 update: the Seareys I saw at Oshkosh had two tie wraps on the outside of the booties as opposed to what the manual says in step 13.1 so this is what I did.
3 Jan 2016 update: when checking again, I found the Gear Leg Oversleeves were upside down. Photo doctored to show.
