Installing the Turtle Deck will have to wait until after the pre-cover inspection is done by the government inspector. However with a surplus of helping hands in the hangar I decided to get going on preparing the Turtle Deck. Raphael and Hardik had no problem cutting the slot in the Turtle Deck for the Root Support Forward in step 1. With help from Kai they then got the aft cut for the Boom Tube done. I then joined in to help (four engineers working in sync, who would have thunk?) with marking the cut for the Cluster Bracket. This took quite a bit of debate as we couldn't believe the manual instruction to make this opening 4-3/4" long... we made it 4" at first and then enlarged it slowly to accommodate the Root Support Aft and were happy with the results. The next day, on my own as the young guys must have gone to the beach, I installed the foam strip on the Boom Tube and then the Carpet. The only thing I can do now prior to the pre-cover inspection is to install the Carpet inside of the Turtle Deck, but for that I need more contact cement.
