Brief Description: Hull reinforcing plates for securing airframe
The Hullside Reinforcement Plates of Section 5 step 19 were installed back when the frame was installed in the hull. Today Bruce and I took them off again to trim them with the Dremel to better fit along the upper edge of the FRP cockpit. I now have proper 1/8" rivet washers so will not have to use the nice backing plates that Steve fabricated as mentioned in the build log of 19 April 2015. Next step is to rivet the plates to the hull, through the carpet (it is glued in too tight to peel out), and caulk all around. After a lot of hours on various tasks today it was time for some tom foolery so we ran the "Spirit" out of the hangar ( one door at least slides nicely now) into the sun (yea summer!). Bruce wanted the guys to push me up to rotation speed on the runway but we decided to wait until the wings were on at least, if not the engine.
